Losing belly fat for men

Still ashamed and disgusted that I ever let myself get that fucking fat. But depression is a mother fucker, what are you gonna do. 5 years of being fat and having man boobs and being constantly sweaty and out of breath were enough. Started working out religiously and eating right in January, and now here I am 9 months and over 80lbs later. Still have some work to do but still, I’m beyond happy with the progress I’ve made.

    5'8"
    Before somewhere between 210-220
    After 143
    About 1.5 years between pics

No fad diet, no quick fixes. Consistent calorie counting & daily exercise works! I’m not perfect, but, dang, I’ve come a long way!!

Losing weight to get a sexy shape

From left to right:
1. January 2015 – 198.8lbs
2. December 2015 – 135lbs
3. December 2016 – 144.6lbs

Yes, I am heavier now than I was a year ago. My body has changed so much for the better with increased muscle mass and strength.

Size doesn’t matter. Weight does not equal size. I wear a smaller size now at almost ten pounds heavier than I did in the middle photo.

Don’t be afraid to eat. Don’t be afraid to lift heavy. Don’t be afraid to indulge yourself occasionally. It doesn’t take one day to lose 60lbs, much like you won’t put it back on after one day.

gaining muscles and losing fats

My 2016 weight loss update y'all!
    Left September 2015
    Right November 2016
    Total Pounds lost: 10 pounds
    Overall weight loss: 45 pounds!

So here’s the deal with 2016. My body gained A TON of muscle and lost a ton of fat. The photos and the measuring tape love it but the scale doesn’t. In 2016 I started weight lifting, did a cycle of Whole 30, was told to cut gluten, actually worked on cutting gluten, joined Beachbody On Demand and started doing 21 Day Fix in September 2016. My biggest piece of advice? Hit up Beachbody if your plateauing! The 21 Day Fix diet did NOT work for me but I absolutely love the workout program. The workout program helped me lose inches quick!

Also I have Hashimoto’s disease but am not on any thyroid meds. Feel free to reach out if you need help getting started!

Before weight: 307 & During weight: 183

Height: 5'7
Before weight: 307
During weight: 183
Goal weight: 150ish

Feeling a bit down and still seeing my old self in the mirror. Just needed a reminder of how far I’ve come.

It’s not just a weight loss journey but a natural hair journey too!

Making before and after weight loss photos

One of the hardest parts of losing weight, it is the feeling that you're not really making progress. Although the numbers of the scale are soaking, you can not see a visible change when you look in the mirror. Therefore, before and after pictures of weight loss are so useful.

Taking before and after pictures of weight loss:

Before you start taking pictures before and after weight loss, you should establish a regular schedule. Take a snapshot of every month you will see a steady increase in your weight loss.

For before and after photos, to be effective, must be able to see as much of your body as possible. If you feel taking a naked or in underwear at home photo, this is the most effective way. Otherwise, wear a bikini or a swimsuit or tight clothing such as a shirt and cycling shorts. If possible, keep your clothes on the same for each image.

Then you want to set up your shot. You want to have as much of your body as possible in the pictures, but want to be close enough to clearly see the changes in your weight loss program is. You can take pictures of the knee to help you to shoot close-up.

If you do not have a friend or family member you feel comfortable asking to take pictures for you, use the automatic setting of the device. If possible, take notes or make a small mark where you are and where you place the camera. This will help keep your uniform before and after pictures.

You want to take pictures of two different poses - one front and one in the profile. This will cause changes in the shape of the visible body.

You might be surprised how much it changed once to compare images of yourself before and after weight loss. When changes in body shape gradually get used to the way you look in the mirror. But to see a snapshot of a month before, you can see that the loss of those pounds really made a big difference.
